Live Newcastle is a regional sustainability initiative launching this summer, designed to encourage consumers to choose independent regional businesses over national chains, by offering a huge range of discounts all over the city in its top shops, cafes, clubs, restaurants, bars and more.

For Newcastle's consumers, you'll be able to register online and join Live Newcastle from this summer. It's a no-brainer: sign up, we'll post you your membership card, and, well, that's it - you can use it all over the city to your heart's content.

The brains behind the concept

Live Newcastle is the brainchild of Jonathan Grubin, one of the North East's most successful young entrepreneurs and the man behind a string of ventures who last year gained extensive media coverage in the likes of The Sunday Telegraph, The Journal, and on BBC Radio Newcastle.

Jonathan was shortlisted for the Young Business Person of the Year Award at the 2008 North East Business Executive of the Year Awards, and was the youngest person to be included in The Journal's ‘Rising Stars and Future Leaders' publication.

The Live Newcastle team includes a lawyer from one of the region's leading commercial law firms, and a PR specialist who successfully launched the Northern Chords chamber music festival in the North East earlier this year.

It's a high-calibre team, capable of delivering Live Newcastle with real quality and longevity.
